Exe Valley Contemporary Quilt Group

Most of our members met through being Region 4 members of the Contemporary Quilt group, which is a special interest group of the Quilters Guild of the British Isles (more details here ). Region 4 covers Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, and we also have members from nearby Somerset. We meet in Woodbury Village Hall, near Exeter as that seems to be a central point for our extensive region.

We use traditional patchwork and quilting techniques, with a contemporary twist, and enjoy experimenting with modern tools and technology to achieve the effects we want on our quilts.

We have grown from 8 to 40 members, and so far, have shared our expertise at meetings, by demonstrating various techniques and experimenting in workshops. See here for more about our recent Eco-printing Workshop.  If you are interested in joining us, please contact Penny Armitage – or tel: 01598 710757

Photos of some of the quilts our members made for our "Enchanted Islands" travelling exhibition can be seen here..
